As only 550 primary schools in the country had been awarded this at that time, it was indeed an accolade. With the funding available, we  set up a Modern Foreign Language centre and all Year 4, 5, and 6  children have a French lesson every week. Children in Years 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 may  join the school's French Club. With this funding, our French teacher, Mrs J  Brew co-ordinates and teaches French in 4 local schools, and 1 inner city school. Our Beacon status has recently been renewed for a further year (until July 2204)</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>School Achievement Award</B></div> <div> <IMG SRC="08216700.gif" border=0 width="278" height="112" ALIGN="LEFT" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">In 2000,  and again in 2002 St. Bridget’s School staff gained  an Achievement Award for excellence. This was based on the SAT’s results gained over the past year.
