Welcome to our school.
Welcome to the St. Bridget’s primary school’s website, look around and contact us if you have any queries.
Beacon Status.
St Bridget’s School was invited to successfully apply for Beacon Status in 2000. As only 550 primary schools in the country had been awarded this at that time, it was indeed an accolade. With the funding available, we set up a Modern Foreign Language centre and all Year 4, 5, and 6 children have a French lesson every week. Children in Years 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 may join the school's French Club. With this funding, our French teacher, Mrs J Brew co-ordinates and teaches French in 4 local schools, and 1 inner city school. Our Beacon status has recently been renewed for a further year (until July 2204)
School Achievement Award
In 2000, and again in 2002 St. Bridget’s School staff gained an Achievement Award for excellence. This was based on the SAT’s results gained over the past year. We were delighted that our efforts on behalf of the children were rewarded in this way.
